Comparing both B744 type2 and type3, these two types both configure 32 business class seats on main deck (zone B) and 32 seats on upper deck, and CI has claimed that business class on both type2 and type3 are 47" (row 5 [type2] or 6 [type3] and 17 may have 50").
Seating plan
Regarding my business calss experiences on type 3, the position of PTV's storage causes passengers think seat pitch is less than 47".
Another problem is that the designing of business class on 744 type3 originally can be a shelled lie-flat bad seat if the seat pitch have 55-60 inches, just like
the new C class of Asiana Airlines. However, CI decides to keep 64 business seats in the same area (zone B and upper deck) on 744 type3. This causes the business seat has limited recline and the foot rest cannot rise to a reasonable angle.
I do agree with
Cofyknsult that this product is very worst transpacific business class. CI called me three weeks ago to explain this problem when I complained their crappy buisness class on 744 type3 and outdated business class on type2 (even though I think C class on type 2 is comfy enough). The good news is CI told me that the all new cabin equipments are designing and will upgrade from 2008. Hopefully it is true.
