Marriage is said to be very difficult without face-to-face interaction, though a good attorney may be able to arrange a proxy marriage in some states.
I can only repeat what others have said - jewelery is generally at least keystoned (100% markup), so shopping and negotiating can save you oodles of boodle. (Possibly unfortunately for the OP, I saw just before Thanksgiving and Black Friday many were discounting up to 60% on jewelery - this is a very good indicator they more than keystone, as they are still earning some profit at 60% off their retail prices.)
