I am about to board my CX flight MEL - HKG in
Y using an F (Z) Award. A lot of emotions are boiling inside me right now but I doubt I will get much sympathy here since I took the risk when I booked the F award 11 months ago and agreed to the X class
9 hour leg with the thought that eventually F would come available. Over half the F seats were available as of this afternoon for purchase but when I got to the airport hell seemed to break lose. They tried to bump 11 people and offered a number of compensation including $240 USD and upgrade voucher to fly the next day but since one of us is in Business we declined since the told us we both would be in Y if we flew the next day.

I called Alaska Airlines 5 to 6 times per day over the past few days but they could get CX to do nothing and when some seats the next day did come available on Asiamiles.com OF COURSE they came back uncomfirmed when they tried to book it even though Alaska could see it too. They put a bunch of notes in my record but the CX staff was mostly confused seeing we had booked a
Y ticket but said Op Ups would happen to their elite members first.
