As singapore has become a popular mileage run I thought I will share my recent experience in overnighting in Changi. I recently comp;eted a nesting two round trips to Singapore from MSY and the last segment was MSY-DEN-PDX-ORD-NRT-SIN OVERNIGHT SIN-HKG-LAX-MSY. Normally I stay at the transit Hotel zip in and out of Changi. This time I decided to test Changi's public facilities. My flight arrived at 1130 PM and I found a corner called quiet corner with a dark location and pleasant music with loungers similar to old first class seats. I put my carry on in a locker and went to sleep. They were perfect with good support for the back and legs. As my biological clock was still Noon, I slept only for 2 hours. Went to the internet cafe and spent 1 hour (6 SIN dollars ) checking my email. Had a cup of coffee in the 24 hour food court and checked in at the United transfer counter at 4.30 AM. The counter is supposed to open at 4/30 AM, but the staff turned up at 4.40 Am. Got my boarding passes, went to the SATS premier lounge and had a nice shower and breakfast. Didnt feel tired and would recommend this to anybody who has 4-6 hours in Changi. It is squeaking clean, excellent entertainment abound (Their TVs with speakers in the seats are outstanding) and no hassle.
