I don't think you have any recourse. I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago -left the house 2 hours in advance of flight, but there was a wreck on I-5 which tied up traffic for a good hour. Got to the counter 42 minutes before flight - told I wasn't going to make it, couldn't get on the flight. It's disappointing sure, but it is the new reality. I believe on each website they do list the information as well as on your e-itinerary.

Why were you so late getting to the airport? And if you fly so much, you really should know the rules by now.
