I have the 18-70 f/3.5-4.5, 12-24 f/4, 80-200 f/2.8 and 50 f/1.8. 18-70 is the walking around lens. 50 is a pretty good portrait lens on the DX sensor.
My SIL is getting the 18-200 and I'm going to check that out when I visit them in Feb. That may become the new walking around lens.
