Question Interlining bags SQ to CX on two separate tickets

I'm flying SQ C LAX-TPE and then CX Y TPE-HKG on two separate tickets.

Checking the CX website, it appears I am allowed only 44 lbs (20 kg) total checked luggage, and due to the holidays with gifts and shopping, I was planning on checking in at least two bags of at least 50 lbs each, as permitted by my SQ ticket.

Does anyone have experiencing interlining baggage from SQ to CX on two separate tickets? The SQ one was purchased directly from SQ and the CX one was an AA award ticket. If so, would I be able to take more than what CX would allow on a standalone intra-Asia ticket (44 lbs) given that my itinerary is actually a transpacific one, and two bags of 70 lbs (32 kg) each is allowed?

Thanks!
