The 747 nose section is significantly quieter than the 777 cabin - that swings it for me. In terms of layout, I'm ambivalent.
^ The seats in the 747 are less equal - 4EF in particuar feel too exposed, whereas 1AK2AK are excellent - but the quietness and privacy of cabin is just superb. Curled up in 1K with a glass of 'poo watching the snow coated Hindu Kush drift past the window was a great way to start this year.
