When the gf and I travel, we make sure to buy food from grocery stores as much as possible. Its a great way to sample local foods and wines and spend a fraction of what you would eating out. Some of the most special moments we've had on our trips have been picnicing in the perfect spot, munching on bread, meat, cheese, kabobs, kushiyaki or whatever else we were able to buy and relaxing on a comfy blanket
I think all of the butchers and bakers in the world understand the universal language of pointing and saying "Please!" in any language
