I just returned from Christchurch where I had a conference at the beautiful Chateau on the Park. http://www.chateau-park.co.nz/

It was a beautiful hotel alright, with sprawling gardens and a small vineyard. Regretfully though, several conference delegates along with myself had personal belongings stolen from our bags! While I had AUD50 taken from my wallet (blame myself for leaving it unattended in the room!), one other colleague lost over $200 (AUD and NZ). Apparently, someone even lost a good pair of golf shoes..

I would definitely NOT recommend the Chateau, unless you are very very careful with your personal belongings...
