How much was the fuel surcharge on your most recent AC ticket?
Have a look at this story on SQ by Reuters.

The state-controlled company said in a statement that it would raise the charge by USD$19 to USD$123 per sector for flights between the city-state and the United States and Canada.

Surprisingly, this makes AC look not so bad at all. For Dec YOW-HKG-YOW, the fuel surchage is CAD170 rt.
