When I was a surgical intern, the trauma center used A5D5 for the IVs of trauma patients that had a positive blood alcohol level on arrival to the trauma ER. Yes that is 5% ethyl alcohol given by IV route for all + trauma patients. We did wean them off it quite fast though.

The VA hostpital had what was called "Spirits of Frumenti" in the pharmacy... AKA Jim Beam. Measured by the 30ml dose.
