Did you call Amtrak or Guest Rewards? Because I find the Family Bedroom answer very interesting. Four years ago I was booking both a family bedroom and a roomette on the AutoTrain using points. I had three adults and 4 children and the agent couldn't get me tickets for all the kids because we were over the capcity of the rooms.

She even went to her supervisor who couldn't override things, but since one of the kids was just under 2, we technically didn't need a ticket for him so we got away with it.

So either there has been a major change that I haven't heard about, or someone didn't give you the correct info. It could be interesting when you go and try to book it.

And yes, the Deluxe Bedroom is the old name for what today is just called a Bedroom.
