You may wish to verify that the 2:1 rate is still available on your account. Blue cards now participate in a program called "Membership Rewards Express", which does not offer airline mile redemptions. The 1:1 rate applies to Green, Gold, Platinum or Centurion charge cards. You can probably find an offer that waives the annual fee for the first year on one of those and redeem for full value.
