Location is pretty good for a residential area (a couple of blocks from the CBD and the big hotels, so not too far yet quiet). It is a 7000 sq. ft. historic house and has just 4 suites, so very much the NZ mansion equivalent.
Just looked in to the Hadleigh, and was considering the NZD$260/night as a reasonable splurge towards the end of our trip. But a second person adds NZD$75 to the room rate

That seems very, very, very high for a second breakfast meal and a couple extra towels.
