IMO, it's one of a few remaining places where the romance of air travel is alive and well. If there were a west coast version of "Wings" (90s sitcom), this would be a good fit.

I flew in once during an El Niņo winter and the plane was whipped around pretty well in the driving rain. Because the airport is right by the sea, I was able to see the frothy waves as we approached for the landing. Fun!

Another time, I arrived after the rental car agency had closed for the night. But they just left the key and contract in an envelope with my name on it on the counter.
