Interesting that one could get so snippy about two routings that are basically one in the same, especially considering the LAX flights often directly overfly SFO. I wouldn't ever want to say that flights ex-SFO are subject to the exact same flight conditions as those ex-LAX. However, it's not as if I was going on and on about JFK-HKG routings as compared to SFO-HKG. In fact, the very reason I brought up LAX-HKG is that it is THOSE flights that are most affected by the winter Pacific winds.. those flights are slightly more compelling in terms of this discussion in that the slightly longer sector length leads to more fuel diversions than on the SFO-HKGs.

But honestly, if you want to join what seems to be a growing FT trend.. continue to make sophomoric jabs at threads..
