After taking UA to MBS since 1980 to visit family in the area, I am now considering flying NW to MBS (on the jet flights) or flying to DTW. May be difficult to get award availability in case of emergency. (I flew to MBS in early April on UA due to my sister's death). I had a US free ticket, unable to get availability due to small non-jet from PIT-MBS. Had 25K UA miles, an award flight was available that day & took it. (Back when UA had jet service from ORD-MBS!). Hope UA can get their act together!
