USAIR First Class Trip Report - Bonus Airtran Report
Well every sense I was a little kid I wanted to fly first class. I talked to some of the members on this forum and they all told me USAIR has one of the worst first class programs but told me to go and I would probably enjoy it just as long as I didn't keep my hope up too high. Well I got to the airport and saw there was a special security checkpoint for first class. I only had to wait maybe 5 minutes to get through security. I then headed to an airport bar and had breakfast. I headed over to my gate and saw they had already started boarding. Luckily it was just first class and persons with disabilities boarding. About 5 minutes after I got on board they asked if we would like a pre flight drink. I said sure I will have a bloody mary. He brought me a can of bloody mary mix and a personal size bottle of vodka. We took off maybe 15 or 20 minutes after I got my drink. About 15 or 20 minutes into flight he asked if any one needed another drink. I was here to enjoy this and get my money's worth so I said sure I'll have another bloody mary. About 15 or 20 minutes after that he asked if any one wanted breakfast. It was not a meal but a basket with about ten different things in it. I grabbed some kind of chocolate chip bar which was pretty good. The seats were nice and comfy with lots of leg room. The staff were very friendly and were there for our every need. I'd say about once every 20-30 minutes during the flight they came around and asked us if we needed any thing to eat or drink. Overall I would give it an A+. The only downside was there was no meal. But I'm starting to think that most flights on any arline from PHL to MCO and vice versa don't offer meals because on the way home I had a coach ticket booked on airtran. When I got to the gate to check in the lady was like we have business available. She was like it's only $60. I enjoyed coming down so much in first I said I'll take it. I thought that the service I got on airtran was no where near the level of attentiveness I got on us. However, for a mere $60 on top of the low price I already paid I thought it was worth it. Overall I thought it was a great experience and I loved it. But the only way I would ever pay $400 again for a first class one way ticket next time I visit Florida is if I can find an airline that flys from PHL to MCO and serves a meal in first class.
