Early last year I was fortunate enough to get the Hilton HHonors "Stay four times, earn 50k MR points" promotion as well as a targeted Gold VIP card for a year.
It's now 18 months later... my Gold VIP card is now a Silver VIP card since I don't do much (any?) travel for business and, for leisure travel, I'm a big believer that the savings of Priceline hotels outweighs the benefits received by paying "full price" for hotels.
So, I have 64k MR points in my account and am debating if I should take advantage of the 50% bonus for hotel points to boost my HHonors account up.
A little background on my points and program memberships --
- I'm almost exclusively an AA flyer -- so the MR program doesn't benefit me much there.
- My other major rewards credit card is Diners Club where I have 80k points currently.
- My backup FF program is OnePass where I have 76k miles.
Obviously, MR would help out with OnePass... but other than that, it appears Diners has as good, if not better, transfer option to the programs I'm involved in -- as well as for gift cards and other "pseudo-cash" rewards.
Is there anything I'm missing? I'm trying to find the best use of these points and, although I'm not likely to drop AmEx soon, I'm wondering if there's some bigger benefit I could use these points for than the 50% extra hotel point promo.
Thanks,
Greg
