Of fare buckets and PNRs
An example (I believe this is how it works): if booking for a party of three, and there are only two seats left in the cheapest fare bucket on that flight, ba.com and other online websites instead sell you three fares from the next more expensive fare bucket that has three seats available. You could have saved yourself money by booking for a party of two, and then a party of one, but then you end up with two separate PNRs which may or may not be a problem.
It is all too easy to miss out on potential savings, avoided by carefully checking beforehand with ExpertFlyer or Seatcounter.
My question is whether it is possible to get everyone onto the same PNR by doing the booking by phone with BA? One potential problem I see is that the ticket flexibility may end up being different for the different travellers, but does this preclude sharing a PNR?
