So why "you can't?". I was suggesting to ask the travel agent to add the DXB-BOM flight in the same PNR. I did not realze that the OP had booked the itinerary on Expedia. I still think calling Expedia and adding that flight is an option. Shop for the flight on expedia.com and call them to book it manually.
