Gatwick is a LONG way away and a bad drive - its not as simple as LHR where you basically pull out on the motorway and keep on the same road until you reach the IC! Four singles on First Capital Connect will be £40, then jump out at London Bridge for a taxi which will not be much expensive for the last leg than taking the tube.
