Why would it put you on the VDB list? I've used it many times and it works quite well for standby. Be absolutely sure you're going to be there for that flight though, because sometimes GAs will just clear the whole list and have BPs ready to go. If you aren't there, you've been offloaded from your original flight and bad things could happen.
