It's really not that bad. When I was there last month, there were lots of liqueurs you could choose as well as hard alcohol. No, not as comprehensive as the normal drinks menu but still pretty darned good.
Maybe you were looking for you favourite drink that was no longer listed?
Personally, I have no problem returning to Meridien over Sheraton as I preferred the "quietness" locale over TST. The lounge drinks were a bonus and not the reason I chose Meridien. Service... hit and miss but so was the Sheraton.
