Anyone else surprised by HER?
I think it's a very shrewd move. With the GT sale, BA are out, and Crete has enough population to sustain a serious network carrier that would eliminate the uncertainty of using OA or hassle of two-stop connections on A3/LH.
ROS is also great. The LH partnership with the premier descendant of random semi-bankrupt Russian carriers is going to rely on further transatlantic connections, as nobody in their right mind would choose AiRUnion over OK/SU or even a connection at FRA as opposed to Ruzyne.
DAM is another market with potential, great idea, and TBS really needed OK metal as opposed to the local carrier.
On the other hand, the PRG-MUC-BOD service is a bit trickier. If leaving from PRG, it's probably faster to go to LYS and rent a car than faff about with getting two permissions from a busy ATC and spending time on the ground. However, they may have done their numbers and have quite a few transit pax to/from MUC plus the ability of poaching high-yield locals, so it may indeed make sense.
I don't think TBS is anywhere near 7 hours from PRG, but the ALA route should be a bit of a stretch for the 320! ALA is only a couple of hundred kilometres from China! Route's longer than PRG-DXB and even SNN-BOS! Better make it a dayflight, as, much as I may enjoy it on short flights, I can't see the business class seating being too popular with pax wanting to sleep.
Maybe a Saudi route would be an idea. @:-)
