When I was young(er!), I remember being told to put on my "Sunday Clothes" because we were going to see Grandma and Grandpa in California... and we were flying economy.

I'm glad I DON'T have to dress up now, but I remember when flying was seen by all as a great priviledge and you were treated (even in economy) as though you were the greatest person on earth simply because you were on the plane. (I can't even imagine how F got treated )

Ah, the good old days.
I can't say that I really miss those days but I certainly remember them. Flying was such a rare experience for my family and usually coincided with a big holiday so we always dressed up for our flights.

I will say that on US domestic routes some of the things people wear are absolutely ridiculous. I don't advocate a 3 piece suit for travel, but flying while looking like a slob or like you just left a gangsta convention makes me cringe.
