Only true "hyatts" accept the check/gift certificates.

Was that not clear on the TYP site?
No, that was not made clear at all. The site says:

"$50 Hyatt Check Certificates

Discover a place that opens your eyes.

At Hyatt, we believe a great hotel should offer more than a good night’s sleep. It should create an environment that awakens your senses. It’s one of the many intangible qualities you’ll experience at every Hyatt.

You’ll find it in the subtle details that give each of our hotels and resorts a personality all it’s own - as unique and different as its location and surrounding.

Come enjoy the many Hyatt experiences we have to offer. Please take a moment and indulge yourself in little imaginary travel. See which of our destinations calls to you. When you do visit us, we invite you to relax, look around, and feel The Hyatt Touch®.
ThankYou® Item #: 1110459"

It's misleading... I assumed that all the "brands" of Hyatt were supposed to accept the check certificate, since there was nothing in the reward information about it only being accepted at certain locations. I only read that on the certificate itself when I received it. I don't know what "true" Hyatt is supposed to be. They all carry the Hyatt name in the front, so I don't know what the difference is.

I either want to send the check back and get my points back so I can use them for something else or I want the Hyatt in Tennessee that I want to stay at the night before I leave to accept the check. I don't like seeming really upset about this because it might just seem like a $50 certificate and any other time, it might not matter that much, but I'll be in the middle of moving in 3 weeks and not being able to use it at the location I wanted (since I'm on a tight budget at the moment) really puts a cramp in my plans for the night before I fly out.... -_-
