Thumbs down Mileage Credit for Flights Nov 16th

I flew YVR-YOW last Friday (day of the computer “glitch”). I checked-in at Vancouver about 9 hours after the computers were back on line. All was OK at check-in, boarding pass issued with A/P number on it. As we passed abeam YWG I had a celebratory swig of O/J as I had just passed the 35k mark!

I have been checking the Aeroplan site to confirm the flight has been credited (little nagging voice in back of brain kept saying computer glitch – no miles posted!), so far no miles.

I checked with a colleague who also flew that day and he has not had miles credited either! He (Elite) had to phone Air Canada on another issue (flight not credited since Feb 2007, despite 5 attempts to do so!) so he mentioned the missing files, turns out they had NO indication of him having flown that day. He then asked them to check my records, guess what – according to them I didn’t fly that day either! He provided the requested data and was told that both our records would be amended and that the miles would post in FOUR to SIX WEEKS!! Lets see, electrons travel at approximately 186,000 miles per second, the link to Aeroplan from Air Canada must be awfully long.

Anyway, if anyone else flew on Nov 16th, they may want to check that Air Canada believes they flew.
