I also get a birthday card from the Pizza Express Club every year. No saccharine message but they do throw in a £10 voucher every time!
(By the way, on a pure cost/benefit analysis, you really should join the Pizza Express club. Dual membership is the way to go, £80 for 2. You get 8 vouchers per year for a free pizza plus free drink, worth c £10 each, plus you each get £10 on your birthday, plus you get 2 mystery shopper questionnaires get you a further £10 each when you return them. Total income of £120 of food and drink for £80 outlay.)
