Barcelona is just horrible, horrible, horrible. The worst major metropolitan city I have ever visited. I'll never go back unless I have to.

And the food is just as bad. Don't expect to find anything resembling a vegetable on your plate in most restaurants. Apparently the Catalan peoples don't eat vegetables, at least not when they're out for a meal.

I asked in one restaurant for some mixed (steamed) vegetables and was told that they only vegetables they served were squash, and only then with some of the barbeque dishes.

Oh, and also stay away from the local Cavas. Blech!
