Thank you for your breakdown on some of these ridiculous fees. I, too, am surprised at the "special" tax on Alaskans and Hawaiians. I think we should secede and take our oil with us.. hmph. I wonder what we get for that - other than the obvious unconstitutional shafting.

But it is becoming absurd. Why not do as some Euro-airlines do and charge a penny for the flight and hundreds for all the other made-up surcharges. "Ohhh... you want us to fly your LUGGAGE there TOO? That'll be another fee."

Lately I hear the EU may be cracking down on these practices, but maybe we should do it in the US first.
