I'm not sure I'm following this logic. Are you saying that you might be able to get late seats for flights that would have sold out in the pre-BS days? If so, that's a great benefit indeed, but I'm not sure I believe it.

In the pre-BS days, consider a flight with only 15 seats left. Assume they were all full-fare. If the flight was going to sell out, there were 15 folks who were willing to pay full fare (say $299).

In the post-BS days, when the flight has only 15 seats left, they might be all BS fares (probably not, but let's keep it simple). All of those fares will be full fare + (say $319). With your logic, folks will say "too much" and try a different flight, leaving seats for you.

If the difference was $100, this might be true, but a difference of less than 10% wouldn't seem to matter.

Maybe I'm missing something....
