Question Clearing customs in China (Shanghai)

Hey all,

I've seen several other similar posts on clearing customs out of Shanghai, but I was hoping to get some advice on my particular situation. I'm currently in Shanghai for business and am scheduled to depart on Saturday the 24th.

I'm traveling with 2 laptops (carry on bag) and a some audio gear (checked suitcase) including an audio mixer, some RCA cables, a power converter, 2 microphones, etc. I do market research so the gear is needed to record the interviews.

Coming in, none of the items seemed to fit my situation (the items weren't "remaining in the territory") so I chose "Nothing to Declare".

And looking at the rules, it doesn't seem like I should have to declare anything on the way out either.

Before I left DFW, I filled out Customs form 4455 to list the items and had a customs agent sign and authorize it. It basically states that all the items I have originated in the US and were not purchased in China.

Anyone have any insight? I really would appreciate it as I'm a bit nervous about Saturday, even though I'm pretty sure I'm following all the rules properly.

Thanks!

Matt
