I finally found a companion and a reason to use a companion coupon to Vegas from Anchorage. Imagine my surprise when I saw this:

Base Fare: 50.00
Tax: 56.28
Total: 106.28

Ummm... the tax on the FULL fare ticket was this:
Base Fare: 389.00
Tax: 67.60
Total: 456.60

Can someone please explain why this isn't considered some sort of "fraud"? At the very least it's incredibly deceptive. How can the taxes and fees be so close to each other?

Oh yeah, the website initially ticked me off by saying the price had gone up $5 immediately after I selected it. What's up with that?
