If it is coded as business class then you may be able to sneak through depending on the agent. I've done this a few times on X upgrades ATL-JFK, about 50/50 let me in. Also, if you have an AMEX Platinum (regular or business, not SkyMiles or HHonors) or Centurion card you can get in for free by showing that to the lounge dragon.
