Isle of Man is not part of the UK. It's a British Crown Dependency, with its own government handling internal affairs and legislation, while the UK by agreement handles external issues like foreign policy and defence. Jersey has a similar status. Neither is part of EU.

About the miles being posted I have no idea. Guess we'll see.
