The galley was boarded rather late (during PAX boarding, which was akward) on my DEN-IAD flight today. So, pre-flight drinks were delayed. The odd thing was that a FA commented she heard that a delayed (just-in-time) galley boarding was going to be SOP at DEN. I find this rather surprising and a little hard to believe, as the loading process cleary disrupts PAX boarding and can all but eliminate pre-flight service in F and C.

Ironically, we then had over three hours to sit on the plane at the gate (to enjoy our pre-flight drinks ), due to a WX-related ground stop.

Additional comments: The pre-flight (and in-flight) service was just fine once the galley was loaded. Overall, it was very good crew.
RE the delayed galley boarding, the FAs were certainly a little frustrated by it. Perhaps it was just an odd service delay at DEN.
