Can we take liquids through the security at St. Pancras, or will we have to line up to pay premium prices with the other 300 people?
Will my Amex plat at least get me in to the lounge at the Paris end? Is the lounge any good?

No lounge open and no ETA. I live around the corner from the station and can tell you that the builders only seemed to move into the lounge area a couple of weeks ago. There is scaffolding everywhere. The floor is in place but everything else needs fitting out.
The bright side is that the lounge looks like it should be very nice once done - there is even natural daylight (the lounge faces out onto Pancras Road at ground level). The Business Premier check-in is a big improvement on Waterloo and now leads pretty much directly into what will now become the lounge, making for short walking distances.
As of today the only shop open post-security was a rather sparsely stocked WHSmith and a small Caffe Nero Express cart (a full scale Caffe Nero is going to open within a week apparently). There will eventually be 3 or 4 other retail.catering units it seems.
Eurostar allows closed containers of liquids through security (i.e. they have to go through the scanner). Coffee and tea are therefore no-nos, but cold drinks are mostly fine. That said, offerings even pre-security are rather sparse. The only places within easy distance of Eurostar check-in and Arrivals are an M&S Simply Food and Le Pain Quotidien (which does takeaway sandwiches and drinks as well as sit-down meals/snacks). There will eventually be a number of other places, such as Costa, Paul, Camden Food Co. No fast food anywhere in the station (seems to be deliberate).
The terminal definitely feels more spacious than Waterloo, and a lot calmer (no scrum for passport control for example). Already a country mile ahead of Paris Nord IMHO, even without any food/drink/lounge!
