If your the parent of a minor who's a US citizen, the minor goes with the parent, in either line. I think the fact that they differentiate is ridiculous. Just have one long line; visitors should not have to wait longer than citizens. We're all equal under the eyes of the law, remember?
They usually let visitors cut to the front of the citizen line because the visitor lines are too long.
First of all they do it in almost every international airport in any country and I don't think it's ridiculous. Second, it is not done to differentiate or make you wait longer or point out that you are a foreigner, it's just a lot easier to process
