the Op apparently values his EVIPs at 15k, if he is going to use one on a flight from EWR-LAX which he can upgrade using miles for 15k with no co-pay or other fees.

My point was that the OP could make someone happy with a trade of their miles for his evip. anyway for the OP, it's a moot point, looks like his flight on the 25th is completely sold out in all classes. he will not be upgrading that flight anytime soon.
