I have an Eddie Bauer rollaboard. The body of it is 22x9x14. Having said that, the wheels are partially exposed which technically extends the overall length to 23", at least as interpreted by HKG airport security staff. UA staff at HKG had no problem with it, nor have I ever had a problem or even had it measured at any other international or any US domestic airport. In HKG first UA put an approved sticker on it, which the HKG security wouldnt accept, I had to back to the checkin counter and get another special waiver sticket.

As to the templates, at SFO I have to first dip the wheels under the template and then the rest slides right thru. Once an FA was behind me and she commented, "oh you know that trick too".
