I was checking in in Shanghai for what turned out to be a very empty flight in C a few months back (F and Y were both nearly full).
The Business class line was grossly long (I assume it was a lot of Premiers flying in Y who were eligible to use the C line)...When I went to queue up, the gustapo at the C line asked if I was in business class, and she pointed me to the 1-person-ahead-of-me First Class/1K line, uttering some friendly, warm "thanx for your business" and "she'll get you checked in and on your way..." comments as I walked away. I was drinking Kirin in the ANA lounge in no time flat.
It was unexpected and nice--versus the "Do you belong here" tone I often get in various US locations (I'm only 25).
I sure love UA Asia...Both on the ground and in the air.
