Not taking sides here, just trying to be pragmatic.....

If flying C or F is an important employee perk that UA corporate needs to maintain
AND
If it pisses off regular (or VFF) pax to SEE such a policy.

THEN

Instead of UA disallowing the policy and potentially enduring wrath of employees, UA should simply make policy that FAs must travel in 'civvies' when they sit up front, so no pax would even know how many 'employee class' travelers there are on any given flight.

Again, I'm not advocating nor dissing the 'employee class' policy; I'm just trying to figure out a way to make it less inflammatory to VFF pax.

BTW, UA should have anticipated pax reaction to employee class perk and figured out a more discreet way of implementing the policy long ago, so we never would have caught wind of it.
