You're right to be concerned and try to get the hotel confirmed in JFK. They should be able to tell you which hotel it is when you got your ticket. The airlines always gives me a hotel voucher with the hotel's name with my ticket whenever I have to transit in DXB. Otherwise, upon arrival in DXB, there is an Emirates counter just before immigration where you get the hotel voucher
