Yet another quirk for e-500's
Perhaps this should be in the "Everything you want to know about E-500's, but i'm not sure if it is true and I'm looking for confirmation. I just talked to a MP Customer Service rep about my mileage. Here is what she told me. I was not a Premier last year. I became a Premier about 3 months ago with a combination of United and Lufthansa miles. I asked her when I would get my e-500s since I just finished a trip on United to Romania and that coupled with a couple other flights just moved me up to Premier Executive. But she is saying no e-500's. She said that first I had to get 25,000 miles (bis) on only United. It didn't make any difference that I was a Premier since not all the miles were on United. Then I have to get 10,000 miles only on United. Well, I knew the later was true, but I didn't know that I had to get 25,000 miles only on United first. I thought that since I was a Premier and then got 10,000 United (BIS) miles that I would be eligible for e-500's. Is this the way it works? I have only 28,000 miles total on United, so my remaining 5,000 miles on United this year will not put me over the top and thus, the miles I had will be zeroed out and I will have to get another 10,000 miles next year.
