Following on from the other thread regarding the finger printing etc. that Japan wants to implement - does anyone have any information on whether their policies for giving shore passes will change in any significant way?

I have a passport that requires a visa generally to visit Japan, however, with onward confirmed reservations to a destination where i have undisputed right to land, i can get a shore pass at NRT to stay for up to 48 hours.
