I have had a Citi PP Elite card for three months and can't be happier. One purchase point + one flight point for each dollar spent. That is two Thank You Points per dollar spent. If redeemed for first/business class tickets, you get a 3% return. So spend $30K, get 60K points x 3% = $1800 of beneift for $30K of spend = 6% return.

When I max out the PP Eilite card I will apply for the AmEx - but that wasn't available when I applied for the PP Elite card.
