At JFK few weeks back I was called by name to the gate by Eagle GA-- I thought they'd lost my luggage or something.

Nope -- they just wanted me to board first and then opened up the boarding to rest of the people. This on almost half empty hop to Boston, it was nice and weird at the same time.
