South Africa uses a "Type M" plug, see
http://www.kropla.com/!m.htm
(the main site
http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm is really good for plugs around the world)
But European "2-pin" plugs are common, and adaptors for these are widespread (most electrical goods are imported from the EU and they don't bother to change the plugs)
So you might want to buy a special US-SA adaptor, but you might also get buy with a US-Europe one.
Also remember that like Europe, SA uses 220V, not 110!

Ah, good to know about the common use of the European type plugs, I always have one of those adaptors in my bag.
I take it that any electronic I have powered/charged in Europe will also be OK in S. Africa (e.g. laptop, cell phone, iPod, Blackberry, etc)?
Thanks
